Our Founders


 

Andrea Hendricks, PHD

Co-Founder & Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Hendricks brings extensive experience to our practice as a skilled therapist dedicated to expanding access to quality mental health care. A graduate of The University of South Dakota, she refined her expertise during a Medical Psychology internship at Duke University. Dr. Hendricks then served as a health psychologist in a San Francisco hospital before relocating to Birmingham. In addition to her work here, she maintains a private psychotherapy practice and is a devoted mother of three, balancing her commitment to both her family and her clients' well-being.

 
 

Maegan Renee, PhD, LPC-S

Co-Founder & Licensed Counselor Supervisor

Dr. Renee, with over a decade of experience, is a seasoned therapist who has worked in both school settings and private practice. As a graduate of Auburn University and a professor of counseling, she’s passionate about mentoring future counselors and connecting our community with quality mental health services. Dr. Renee specializes in helping parents advocate for their children’s educational needs, offering expert consultation on IEPs, 504 Plans, and BIPs.

Our Team


Delia works with individual adult clients (in-person or via telehealth) to address common issues like anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, self-esteem, and stress. She has extensive experience with young adults/college age individuals, and welcomes LGBTQIA+ clients, women struggling with health issues, and clients exploring the mind/body connection. Delia holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Certificate in Marriage and Family Counseling. ALC #04564

Jason specializes in couples therapy and working with older teens and adults. With a focus on relationship dynamics and individual growth, Jason offers a supportive environment where clients can explore challenges and build healthier connections

 
 

Susan specializes in working with pre-teens, adolescents, and young adults, offering dedicated expertise and compassionate care. With a focus on this transformative stage of life, Susan provides a supportive environment and specialized techniques to guide her clients towards growth and well-being.

Whitney’s 15 years experience in teaching movement practices to optimize well-being has informed her holistic approach to counseling. She is a National Certified Counselor and a registered yoga teacher. Whitney specializes in supporting clients with concerns around life transitions, relationship issues, substance abuse, sexuality, and emotional dysregulation. Whitney is currently accepting new individual clients and couples seeking relationship counseling. Max earned his master’s degree at the University of South Carolina in 2019. He has worked at the South Carolina Commission for the Blind, South Carolina Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice, Lexington County School District, and in private practice at Carolina Psychiatric Services. Max specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy and works with teens and adults.

Breeanna specializes in child therapy, excelling in connecting with children of all ages through creative therapeutic techniques. Trust her expertise to guide your child through their journey towards healing and growth.

 

Supervision


 

Interested in getting your LPC? Our on-site supervisor, Dr. Renee, has experience working with both school and clinical mental health counselors who want to obtain their licensure. Dr. Andrea Hendricks contributes to supervision by offering a wealth of insight on how to start your own private practice. Licensed Professional Counselor: Requires a master’s degree in counseling from a CACREP (or academically equivalent) accredited program, a passing score on the National Counselor Examination, obtainment of 3000 hours of counseling services provided while engaging in regular supervision with a licensed professional counselor supervisor and continuous professional development.
